Box Breath

Box breath is also known as square breathing. This is because there are 4 steps to the technique and each step lasts for the count of 4.

How to use this technique:

  1. Sit comfortably with a straight back

  2. Exhale completely

  3. Inhale as you count slowly to four in your head, filling the lungs completely

  4. Hold the breath while counting slowly to four

  5. Exhale and release the breath slowly to the count of four

  6. Hold the breath out for the count of four

  7. Repeat the cycle five to ten times

 

In 1,2,3,4

Hold 1,2,3,4

Out 1,2,3,4

Hold 1,2,3,4

Repeat
